In November 13, 2009 after 23 years anchored at Kakap block, FPSO Kakap Natuna was sent to ASL shipyard-Batam, for repairing/ dry dock. And the repairing was just started in the end of October 2011 after the FPSO Kakap Natuna staid for 2 years ASL shipyard and repairing was finished in August 2012, then re anchored back to Kakap block at the beginning of September 2012.

During repairing at Batam, the Process area and Ground flare and the accessories are removed out from FSPO Kakap Natuna. This because of both Process area and Ground flare are not needed any more after the gas production is now sole to Singapore from Kakap block, by mean there is no gas content in the oil production from wells sent to FPSO Kakap Natuna.

(At Singapore straight, August 2012)

With no the Process area, Ground flare and accessories the function of FPSO Kakap Natuna is now changed to be FSO Kakap Natuna,
